"Tried So Hard " by the FBB is correct, naturally.

Okay, yes, it is Opeth, and it's even off Morningrise. I will admit defeat -- the first song that hasn't been guessed in the game -- even the right Ramones song got guessed eventually! -- and give it away: "Advent".

I tried to make it a little more challenging this time, with some album tracks mixed in with the singles and radio hits, so thank you everyone for your patience, and for playing. I honestly never know which ones will end up being the hard ones. I wouldn't have guessed that "I Do the Rock" was an easy one, for example.

I'm going to be gone next week, so see you all on the 21st!

I actually am a fan of Opeth, scraps – and I'm assuming that's the band in 14. But hell, even that longer clip you have up could be anyone of like 30 tunes – but I'll make the guess of “To Bid You Farewell” off the Morningrise album.

My clue for #9 was a bad, bad clue. I should have said that the songwriter wrote songs for two influential bands; he was only in one of them. And yes, you are circling near the answer, though you haven't named the songwriter.

As for the influential metal band, they are European and modern, and perhaps they have no fans reading this thread.
