I got to see them play live a couple weeks ago and they gave me chills. Trixi Whitley's voice combined with Daniel's passionate guitar and vocals combine into an amazing sound. I am a longtime fan of Lanois, and Black Dub is yet another example of his talent, not to mention that of his bandmates. I caught the Dub at New York's Bowery Ballroom (with the great Chris Thomas on bass) and, in short, they killed. Especially with "Surely." Boy, that girl can <i>sing</i>. The KCRW take is really good, but live the song packs so much more heat and emotion. (Duh, right?) Can't wait for the album.
