Jamie Kent

“So who the f#*k is Jamie Kent?” leads off Jamie Kent’s bio, and it’s a fair question — although he’s about to release his sophomore album, Navigation, chances are you may not have heard any of Jamie’s songs.

You should do yourself a favor and rectify that situation with this exclusive premiere of “Changes,” a track from Navigation, which is scheduled for an April 20 release. An urgent midtempo ballad, “Changes” highlights some of Kent’s biggest strengths — including his gift for hummable hooks, his warm, sweetly mournful vocals, and his gift for deceptively simple, folk-rooted arrangements — while hanging onto a few surprises for the full-length record, an eclectic affair that includes guest appearances from Jon Graboff (of Ryan Adams & The Cardinals), Charles Neville (of the Neville Brothers), and Scott Murawski (of Max Creek and Mike Gordon).
