The Blank Tapes

The Blank Tapes‘ Matt Adams may be one of the most prolific songwriters around. It was only 7 months ago that he released the cassette/digital download Invisible Colors, and now Sun’s Too Bright is about to drop on May 22 (that’s tomorrow!) via the SoCal-based cassette label Burger Records (yes, they release actual vinyl records too, but this album will be a cassette and digital download only). The dude has at least three other albums waiting in line for release sometime in the not-too-distant future, if you can believe that.

“A’bergine” is a psychedelic garage rock song about – you guessed it – an eggplant. It’s been kicking around for a year or two, having occasionally appeared in past live Blank Tapes sets, and now it has a home as one of the twelve songs included on Sun’s Too Bright. The release of this trippy song’s new underwater video effectively kicks off the summer a little early for Matt and the rest of the Blank Tapes.

Expect to see The Blank Tapes hitting the road all through the summer for tour dates across the west and the northeast.
