Here’s the first trailer for the Tom Hooper-directed adaptation of the hit stage musical, Les Misérables, based on the classic novel by Victor Hugo. It features an all-star cast, including Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonhmam Carter, Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Amanda Seyfried. Les Misérables is set to open December 14, 2012.

People criticized Tom Hooper’s direction of “The King’s Speech” for not being visual enough. I hope this film answers his critics because this trailer makes “Les Mis” look epic. Can’t wait. Anne Hathaway’s voice is great, too.
