He wants to engage us, but he also likes to fool around and pull the rug out from under us. He flirts with seriousness, but can't commit. He demands to be taken seriously as an artist--he always flaunts his credentials in interviews--but shies away from it, too. He's endlessly frustrating, even when on his best behavior.
