Josh Brolin did a convincing Dubya, though he reminded me a lot of his cowboy character from No Country for Old Men... over all, i don't doubt that 'W.' will have the effect Oliver Stone desired

I agree, particularly because the film doesn't seem to be quite the full-on, Fahrenheit 9/11 portrait of farcical evil that might have drawn lefties into the theater by the millions. I freely admit that I was hoping W. would offer JFK-like conspiracy theories blended with Nixon-esque nastiness. If even one conservative can walk out saying, "Hey, he doesn't come off too badly," then I'm not that interested.

Besides, there are new clowns in town to obsess over, and we can watch them for free on TV.

To clarify: I wrote "potato chip" when I meant "pretzel." I don't want to be on the wrong side of history. But W. seems like more of a chip (and pork rinds) eater.

I'm curious if this film will find an audience. The conservatives will of course avoid it, and most liberals are way over laughing at W's language gaffes. The state of the world has ceased being humorous. Even people who find Bush to be a giant buffoon may not want to watch an entire movie about the man, instead getting their Bush fix in 30-second You Tube clips.
