But could Moore have meant "democracy" in its purest form, as opposed to what we have now, which is a system in which the politicians answer to lobbyists, special interest groups and big business? Maybe he's saying we have a republic and we need more of a "plebian democracy." Or something similar. I haven't seen this film, but have seen Moore's use of the word “democracy” criticized much in the way you criticize it. He's castigating corporate America for the camera, but has always found a way to get a major distributor to put his films out; distributors who have financial ties to a few of those same companies he lambastes in the films.<br><br>I don't think it is possible to get a truly bias-free production concerning the American financial morass. Even PBS has corporate sponsors after all, but Moore has begun to truly strain his credibility and, with such a complex and sensitive issue such as this, someone with a lower profile would have done a little better. I'm frustrated with Moore the most because of his skipping rope – he's on that side of it while filming, but on this side while selling. I don't think it is possible to get a truly bias-free production concerning the American financial morass. Even PBS has corporate sponsors after all, but Moore has begun to truly strain his credibility and, with such a complex and sensitive issue such as this, someone with a lower profile would have done a little better.
