I didn’t follow his political career until Al Gore tapped him to be his Veep. After seeing him agree more often then not with Cheney on the one and only debate in 2000, it was clear this guy will cave to most bellicose blow hard Republican in the room. And during the vote recount, he was quick to back off when it was clear that many overseas military ballots were not valid, according to Florida law. Republicans were pushing for sticking to the letter and spirit of the law when it came to everyone but the military, and when Joe was shouted down by someone in the Republican camp about denying the vote to “men and women who put their lives on the line for our country,” Lieberman went from “Well, if we’re going be strict followers of the law, the rules ought to apply equally,” to “Oh, I couldn’t agree with my Republican friend more. Of course we have to make an exception for our men and women in the military! I don’t care if the military ballots have a postmark dated two weeks in the future, I say let’s count ‘em!”

Joe will always be a coward and opportunist in my mind. Screw him, and screw those idiot Connecticut voters (now suffering buyers remorse) who sent him back to the Senate. And screw Harry Reid, for being too much of a coward to turn his back on Lieberman and strip him of his committee assignments.

Having grown up in Connecticut, I simply cannot overstate how much of an embarrassment Joe Lieberman has become. No, not Ronald Reagan. Vanilla Ice. He's prepared to "ditch the zero and get with the hero". Too bad he'll hike his skirt for whomever is deemed "the hero" at any given moment.

Lieberman has apparently taken his hero's advice to heart.
