I never could figure out why they weren't bigger than they were. I suspect people were turned off by Gerard's speak-sing, but their music was gorgeous. <br><br>I absolutely loved "Jacket Hangs" and especially the beautiful "Your Ages" which had one of my all time favorite lyrics: "In 10 years, everything will bleach to primer and we'll lie in the light, grasped by ghosts" “Swagger” was one of the best albums of the 1990's. The band knew it too, and I think that only fueled the displeasure in their songs. For so long they kind of worked the margins, wondering what it would be like to break through big time, but when big time arrived it did so with big time strings attached.
