Wow – never thought I'd see an interview with Willie Wisely! I actually own Turbosherbert (got it through being music director at my college station) and I love it – though it's the only album I've heard from him. Great interview – gonna have to check some of the rest of his stuff out now that I know he has more.

I first discovered Willie Wisely (as he was known then) via a Not Lame Records sampler. It was a hell of a sampler; it also introduced me to Walter Clevenger, This Perfect Day, and probably a dozen other artists whose own CDs are now a treasured part of my collection. “Parador” was one of my favorite albums of 2006; glad to see Wisely's finally getting some mainstream love.

So Willie Wisely produced Andy Dick and the Bitches of the Century? Is that correct? I've always liked Dick. I've never "gotten" Jim Carrey's manic mugging, but for some reason Dick's shtick works really well for me.

But enough about him -- it's interesting to hear Wisely's take on CDs and MP3s. I tend to think it's scary out there right now for musicians trying to sell their product, but things like iTunes and MySpace obviously help and give them an advantage in certain areas.

I only know two Wisely songs, both courtesy of Jefitoblog, and I liked both, especially "Love Is Wrong." I look forward to hearing the one you're offering here once I can download it at home.
