According to a slashfilm article from 2006, the director is Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind). But a 2009 fusedfilm article says they'll be approaching McG to direct. Joss Whedon is also mentioned in the article. http://fusedfilm.com/2009/04/back-to-the-future...

Nice article Jeff. I really loved this film when I was growing up and i remember the anticipation and seeming eternity before we got to see the 'to be continued' fulfilled. Good memories.
