Similar-ish experience when she fronted for The National in Dublin. However, her hands for the guitar were amazing, so I went and saw her play again a month later with her touring band. Different class altogether. CD was very poppy, but I think this girl is going places. She is not a solo artist though.<br><br>The National played an amazing set in Dublin last autumn. Really was "one of those gigs". Saw St.Vincent twice last year. Similar-ish experience when she fronted for The National in Dublin. However, her hands for the guitar were amazing, so I went and saw her play again a month later with her touring band. Different class altogether. I did, however, see Mark Wahlberg at the Lakers game on Friday. My favorite part of the evening was when they played "Good Vibrations" over the P.A. and he started bobbing his head and feeling the vibrations. You kinda have to either get annoyed with it, or play along, and it's more fun to play along. It certainly helps pass what can be an interminable time standing there between sets, particularly when you're a (relative) geezer like me. My wife and I saw Swell Season (Glen & Marketa from "Once") there last month, and Jenna Fischer was there with a group including the guy who plays Roy on "The Office." Their presence was the source of many text-messaging hijinks--not that I had anything to do with it (he said sheepishly)...<br><br>I like the National a lot. Wish I'd been there.
