You are going to love this.  Seriously.  I’m not gushing or emitting any kind of bluster or hyperbole.  From the moment those chiming notes from Luther Russell’s guitar come ringing through the speakers, you are going to get chills from hearing a simple melody so lovely and recorded just right.  And then the vocals by Jody Stephens come in, as warm and as sweet as the melody; harmonies fill the bridge – it’s the most exquisite fit.  A direct, emotionally poignant lyric; a universal message and feel that comes across – this is as good as it gets.  The production is stellar – the acoustic guitar is as crisp as it is lush – this is an absolute joy and the embodiment of the perfect power-pop ballad.

Kudos to the folks at Burger Records for releasing this 7″ single and to Jody and Luther for some wonderful new music.  Please take a listen and then buy a copy of “Lucky Guy” by Those Pretty Wrongs who got it pretty right.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

“Lucky Guy” b/w “Fool Of Myself” will be released June 2015
