Ooh, I think that's a form of child abuse…

I hate clowns but a was a fan of the It miniseries as a tween, although I usually had to chase it with a viewing of Honey I Shrunk The Kids. I'm sure some people would consider that movie more terrifying than an evil space clown.

Jeez, I shouldn't have read this post before bedtime. I'll have dreams of oozy eye infections and nasty knee stabbers.
I have a fear of clowns (who doesn't??) and when I lived at home my Dad thought it was funny to leave a little magazine photo of Tim Curry as Pennywise in places designed to startle me: the front of my clock radio, the dashboard of my car, the bathroom mirror… Never knew where that little f***er was going to turn up…

I never really liked the film all that much — I thought it a major disappoinment after the wonder that was Blade Runner. But Curry was great as Darkness and I still own the soundtrack on cassette. That Bryan Ferry song is fantastic. Was the soundtrack ever put out on CD?

No, pretty much spot-on. Tim Curry had a major eye infection due to the evil looking scleral shells he had to wear, a fire nearly wiped out the James Bond stage at (I think) Elstree (or was it the Superman stage?) and there was the studio behind Scott trying to make sure he didn't go crazy-overbudget like he did on his previous Blade Runner.

That's interesting that the Goldsmith score is still in print, but the Tangerine Dream one isn't. Because for years, the Goldsmith score was very tough to find while the Tangerine Dream version was in many o' cut out bins — which is where I found the LP version of the soundtrack.

Legend had so many problems during production (I believe a fire ruined two major sets, which resulted in re-writes that changed the story for the worse), and I think there were some health issues with Tim Curry's make up, too. And since I'm too lazy to look up these bits of trivia, I'll leave it to others to fill in the gaps.

I never saw “Legend,” but I remember the Lord of Darkness's image scaring me in the TV ads when I was ten. Years later, when I found out it was Tim Curry under all that makeup I was surprised, because, like you said, it doesn't look like him. It just looks like a scary-ass devil.

How cool is that Bryan Ferry song?

I never had a nightmare about Tim Curry, but I did have a nightmare that I was at the park, sitting on a bench, when Ninja Girl ran up and stabbed me in the knees. I ran away (which is odd, since I had just been stabbed in the knees) and everywhere I stopped, feeling I was out of harm's way, Ninja Girl would appear and stab me in the knees.
