sucks that the soundtracks are different. How dissapointing! I love “Another Saturday Night” by Sam Cook and its not on the DVD.

Thanks for looking these great songs up but for some reason I can't get any of them to play. The other soundtracks work so I'm at a loss as to why the Shag ones wont play.

I'm so glad I stumbled across this. I LOVE this movie & only own the VHS. While deciding to buy the DVD version, so I could actually watch it again (since I no longer have a VCR) I saw all the reviews that said the DVD music “sucked”. However, I can't really remember any songs other than Stagger Lee & your research has now confirmed that it's on the DVD!! So, I will buy it because that was the only song I was worried about.

i loooooove shag, i'm so sad that the vhs and dvd versions are different. I really want someone to do a real “Shag the soundtrack” with all the good songs. i know that will never happen. favorite sceen: fishing on the dock of course!!!!!

Of all the forgotten movies to review. I grew up in Spartanburg, and this was a huge deal when it came out (at least for us). One of my high school pals is an extra in the movie. No worse than Dirty Dancing (which was filmed about 30 miles north of Spartanburg), you certainly could do worse things with your time. Thanks for reminding me about it and the soundtrack!
