I love "10 Items..." , too. Like I said, the Engvall show isn't reinventing the wheel, but it is fine for the summer season, when everything else is basically reruns or reality.

And Brian Doyle Murray is a hoot. I've loved him since his SNL days (and of course, "Caddyshack").

Yes, Bill Engvall is capable of being funnny but often he just runs on fumes.
Yes, Nancy Travis is very good. Tim Meadows is terrific but what the hell is he doing on this show ? Surely he can do better than this. And who on earth ever told Brian Doyle Murray that he was funny ? I'm still waiting on that one to pay off.

If you want to see a great, fun, clever cable sitcom try "10 Items Or Less " when it returns. It has the fabulous Jennier Elise Cox.

You're dead on about My Boys. It really matured and improved in the second season. I especially loved the storyline about Jim Gaffigan's character's ambivalence about the suburbs and family life when the rest of the gang are still city-dwelling singles. Also, when Brendan got a little "douche-y" and they had an intervention, not because they wanted to take him down a notch but because they honestly missed their good friend. And that's what the show is ultimately about: friendships and how they change and grow as people move from their 20s to their 30s (and beyond).
