This week’s mixtape is an ode to Internet-only, independent radio station woxy.com, which, sadly, went off the air earlier this week — perhaps for good.

To honor the contribution the station has made to my life as a music lover, I put together a mix of songs from bands I love that I discovered while listening to WOXY — both while it was still 97.7 WOXY-FM and during its Internet-only days.

Of course, this mix only represents a tiny portion of the bands I became fans of after discovering their music via WOXY — a complete mix would have eleventy billion songs long (and yes, that’s a scientific number). And the songs I chose aren’t necessarily the songs that introduced me to the bands, but are songs of each that I love and thought would fit well together on this mix.

Love you, WOXY!
