You commented on a Mix Six that Madness was “Too British” for the United States (I'm paraphrasing here). And while I really love Tenpole Tudor, I think the “Too British” label applies — which could be why they had trouble making it across the pond.

There are so many great pop influences on that album it's scary. You've got McCartney, Queen, ELO, 10cc, Jellyfish just to name a few.

Easily one of my favorite albums of the decade. Agreed on the second album, though I loved the title track.
