Thanks – that Paul Young cover of Boys of Summer is ten kinds of awesome.

I never thought I'd hear anyone say that, but you're quite welcome.

You display a certain affinity for mr. McDonald's output.

    Just sayin'

I have a particular affinity for that song, as it contains what I believe is the last recorded output of Mr. Stan Getz.

Anyway, McD is the patron saint of Popdose! Whaddya expect?

  • Broad

That version of “VooDoo” made me fall in love with the Nevilles. Thanks, man.

  • Old_Davy

Yeah, if it wasn't on the soundtrack of “Ocean's 11, 12 or 13″ it should've been.

  • Dan

Wow. Paul Young's voice is SHOT. P-U. That is all kinds of horrible.

  • bama

I've noticed that you've put a few tommy keene songs on over time. there is an old keene brothers bubblegum song called “sherry” that i've been looking for… can't seem to find it through legitimate or illegitimate channels. any chance?
    As always, love the site.

Thanks for the love — I wish I could reciprocate with the song you're looking for, but I only have the Keene Brothers' 2006 album. Sorry!

Bama, it's your lucky day! As it happens, Popdose has a post on the Keane Brothers this very week. Head on over and grab a vinyl rip of “Sherry” here:

You just don't pick up anything from my posts, do you? You slacker, you… goldfish!

  • http://www.popdose.com jefito

It just so happens that there IS a band called the Keene Brothers, and they DID release an album in 2006! And Tommy Keene is one of the Brothers! So there!

Man! What are the odds?? With Bama's request and all, I definitely feel that The Cosmic Power is on Tom(my) Ke(e)(a)ne's side this week.

All this dispute is my fault for failing to see the post
on the Brothers this week. Thought I was a careful
reader. Hey, but what are the odds, y'know? Only
on popdose. And, y'know, that song is impossible
to find. I've had a tracker out for it for about a year.
At the risk of debasing popdose into a file sharing
system, it would be cool to have a post one time in
which all your key writers listed one or two songs that
have been jangling in their minds for decades, but that
they've found impossible to locate via legitimate or
illegitimate channels… ya never know what might
    surface…
