The Mandy Moore cover bends light — not a compliment.

Don't miss the Mary Chapin Carpenter tune. The other standout track from Between Here And Gone is Elysium, which I think was highlighted on the old Jefitoblog some time ago. That one is so beautiful it brings tears to my eyes.

Mandy suffers from terminal whiteness, but I do think her cover has a certain right-angled charm.

I'm so glad my love of “Between Here and Gone” is shared by someone else. She ended her Columbia career on a high note, but in a perfect world, that album would be in a million homes.

That Zoot Sims track is mad flava.

It is, isn't it? Lots of covers this week, for some reason…

  • JonCummings

I dunno — my adoration of Chapin fell off a cliff starting with the “A Place in the World” album. Nothing of hers since then has moved me at all — and I'm someone who saw her at least twice a year over a six-year period. Maybe I'll give BHaG one more try.

BTW, Jeff, that's a nice version of “Sugar Sugar.” I accept your apology for last week…

I apologize for nothing! That song is horrible! I was just giving you nutbags a gentle nipple twist.

  • Anthony Hansen

    He's got…
    HANDS LIKE HAMS!
    KNEES LIKE TREES!
    200 POUNDS
    OF SURFBOARD HER-CU-LEEEEEEEEEES!

    God, I love 10CC.

Great mix. I think it works just as well on this Monday morning as it does on Friday. Thanks.

That Mojo Pin rivals the original. Great stuff.
