It was late on a Friday night, the folks were out of town, and I was listening to the single (which I had purchased second-hand that evening) in our living room. I was already spooked thanks to the Exorcist connection, but what made me jump was the intonation of "grand piano" on the flipside edit. The label said "Instrumental" on both sides, so Mr. Stanshall's appearance was news to me. But I loved both excerpts enough to purchase the CD weeks later (other Oldfield albums would follow, including my overall favorite, Hergest Ridge).

I managed to find the original 7" A-side in CD form on a promo single Virgin issued in '90 (I'm guessing to tie in with The Exorcist III) but I had to digitize the Stanshall excerpt from the 45. I don't suppose you'd like a copy.

I had a similar experience when I first heard the 45 versions about 20 years ago.
