It was beautiful. It was shown for several years on CMT. I don't think this live recording was ever released on record, cassette, or cd. The record that was released of "Once in a Very Blue Moon" was not the same version. The live performace in 1985 was far superior. Also, I was wondering how Nanci's health is now? I saw her perform at the Detroit "Hoedown" back in 1986. She sang "Once in a Very Blue Moon", and "Daddy Said". In retrospect, the MCA records have some strong material, but at the time, they felt like a betrayal, with only "Storms", and the beautiful 'It's A Hard Life' standing above the rest. There have been several questionable career moves (thankfully the dance remix album 'Nanci Griffith Revisited' - I kid you not - never saw the light of day beyond advance release), and to say that to follow her requires patience is an understatement, but I still approach each release with the hopes that she will return to the original magic.. It's all been downhill for the past decade or so, but when she was good--and occasionally still, in concert--she's just incredible.
