Considering the others at that time he was an Angel. Why do you think he still looks so good and can stay up with the youngins? He never got into the hard drugs ... Just a little Token and Kool-Aid, lol. And all of us that did that are still here and it didn't seem to hurt us at all. In an old Crawdaddy article, Miller once said that "music is about 10% of what I do". I've loved him ever since. He's a carpenter, photographer, sailor, and painter. And a fantastic musician. I picked up his first album (Children of the Future) when I was seventeen, and loved it. I was into the "first" part of his career first. I'm still not enthused about some songs post "Joker" , but who am I to judge. I had a chance to meet him, and he was just a really nice guy to chat with. Props to Mr. Miller. By 1980 or so he'd left most of his bad habits and behavior behind. The guy did get up to some wild stuff when young, though. A lot of that just goes hand in hand with the times he lived through, but I agree, at this stage of his life he's a very nice, genuine man. I think he's finally getting the respect he deserves too, as the great musician he is, as new generations discover his incredible musical legacy. Rock on Stevie!
