Only the Beatles seemed to plateau and never disappoint. It's usually easy to identify the strongest writing period of any songwriter, and it's obvious that when they've had their say -- when they've done their thing -- it's usually downhill from there. Even Paul Simon peaked and fell. The Eagles and Dylan, too. Many will disagree with me, but you know what I'm saying --- Scholz said his piece in the first two albums, and that was really enough.
