There is no need to bash a show that will revolutionize TV series as we know it. Plus your spastic comments are clearly falling on blind eyes considering Starz has already netted more than enough interest from just the first few episodes. Spartacus is truly a 4.5 out of 5 and appeals to those who simply seek to be entertained, not educated.

Ken I suggest you go back to watching re-runs of full house on Nick-at-Night. Raimi is his partner, and since he is far more popular and well known, he tends to be associated with his work above himself). The only thing they have in common is the time setting (roughly, anyway) and location (New Zealand).

Anyway, I adored Lucy Lawless as Xena and in Battlestar Galactica. I'll watch this show just for her.

It has nothing to do with Hercules or Xena. (Sam Raimi didn't even create those shows, they are from Rob Tapert. Plus, even after a decade, she's still geek bait. Unfortunately, any cache with her involvement is lost to the utterly Skinemax treatment Starz has slopped onto this.

Raimi's production partner Rob Tapert is married to Lucy Lawless, so I suppose her presence was inevitable. I'll give it a try but I doubt I'll get very far. Lawless was good on BATTLESTAR GALACTICA but this looks to be back to the saltmines for her.

I can only assume Raimi wanted to do a more adult HERCULES or XENA.
