If you’re going to trade in on Ferris Bueller’s Day Off nostalgia for your music video, it had better be in service of a song worthy of brushing the hem of John Hughes’ immaculate ’80s garment. Fortunately for David Paige, he’s got a lot more going for him than just an enthusiasm for (and apparently encyclopedic knowledge of) Matthew Broderick’s finest moment: this is one great, glittering gift of a pop song, with subtly shimmering production swirling around the hummable hooks and singalong chorus. We are ready for a full-length album of stuff like this, David — thanks for asking.
