Weeknight ’80s Dance Party: 8/3/11

I don’t have much to say about this week’s mix except that it’s just fun. You’ll probably notice that a lot of the artists come from the bottom of the alphabet and that’s because I started at the end of my ginormous 80s 12″ playlist in order to build this mix. Behind the scenes — so exciting, right?

The extended mix of Peter Gabriel’s “Big Time” is one of my favorite things right now. I have a few more remixes of songs from So and they are really fantastic, so I’ll definitely be sharing those in the weeks to come.

Also, when I first acquired the Swansway track, I’d hoped it was going to wind up being some New Wave cover of the Soul Train theme song. It’s a damn shame it isn’t.
