YouTube Roulette: The Worst Music Videos Ever

Dw. Dunphy October 1, 2011 8

The rules are simple for the game sensation sweeping the nation that doesn’t require inebriation (unless you absolutely need a drink). YouTube Roulette asks only a few things from you. First, create a random category. Second, enter it into YouTube’s search engine. Third, watch. Four, cry.

Spin the chamber and squint when you pull the trigger – it’s time for another round of YouTube Roulette. This time, we put in the bullet “Worst Music Video Ever” and we get these. Sit back and…enjoy?

    THOOOOOOORRRRR!!!!

“Anger is my middle name.  My first name is Thor.  I don’t have a last name.”

Sincerity is key when attempting to define these kind of things.

Thor definitely could lay claim to the title, but could also be argued as awesome it its own lack of irony.

The edge goes to the four brave young lads from Chernobyl.

I kind of dig the second one, though.

How can you (and those on Youtube) not recognize that Zlad! is purposely bad? This is a comedy bit done in conjunction with the Jet Lag Travel’s book on the fictional Molvania. You can still download Electronik Supersonik at their web site: http://www.jetlagtravel.com/molvania/images/Elektronik_Supersonik.mp3

Am I alone in finding “Nowiy God” catchy despite its cheap visuals? I’m led to understand the title translates to “New Year”; I post it to Facebook every December 31st as a result. Go back to YouTube and see how long you have to scroll before Jan Terri’s “Losing You” (or “Baby Blues” or the seasonally-apropos “Get Down Goblin”) pops up.

Those ain’t the rules however. In this game, you get what you get doing the random search. However, I suspect many of what would be considered the worst videos on YouTube would have been purposefully manufactured as such. We’ll see what surfaces with the next category we pull up for YouTube Roulette.
