The band has just finished touring with Hope Of The States and there was considerable excitement about them following their performances at SXSW this year. They are a four-piece made up of an Irishman, a Canadian, a New Zealander, and an Englishman who all met through mutual friends in London.

Vega4 are currently on tour in the UK with James Dean Bradfield and Boy Kill Boy.

The Boy Kill Boy pairing made me cringe a little — and the publicist’s description sounds like the setup to a “four guys walk into a bar” joke — but having visited Vega4 at the band’s fucking MySpace page (and visited again), I’m happy to report that Vega4’s music tends more toward the “pleasantly anthemic” than the “annoyingly trendy” side of the spectrum. The group’s upcoming album is something I might not mind owning. Check ’em out there, or download a track, “Bullets,” right here.
