My Faces box set came!

Love me some Faces, man. Love.

For anyone unfamiliar with the Faces, imagine the world’s best bar band, playing damn good song after damn good song. Most of their albums were out of print for a long time (I think some of them still are), but this four-disc set rescues a decent chunk of the catalog from obscurity, and adds a pile of demos and live performances to boot.

90% of Rod Stewart’s listenable recorded output was with the Faces. Listening to this stuff, you see what he could have become. It’s infuriating, in a way.

Maybe I’ll throw some mp3s up someday soon. But tomorrow, more Nilsson!
