Radio City With Jon Grayson & Rob Ross: Episode One Hundred Fifty Three
One of those conversations that was so deep and wide that Jon and Rob didn’t want to end the discussion… so here you have a longer-than-usual Radio City… the boys at their best!
The show begins with the death of Little Richard at age 87… what can we say about one of THE architects? Also, Roy Horn of ”Siegfried & Roy” fame dies from COVID-19; meanwhile, the president is repeating the same “points” from weeks ago, since his last ”look at me” circus, except he’s inflating the numbers exponentially and he still reads like he can’t... blathering on about sending ventilators to other countries, etc. At the same time, the press doesn’t call him on any of this, while, ironically, CNN runs a story about how editorial boards should be calling for Trump to resign. The Bernie Sanders team starts to spread unsubstantiated reports about Biden’s chances of being elected in another effort towards pulling another 2016-styled upending of the Democratic convention. In the New York “he said, he said”, New York City mayor deBlasio says “beaches will not open”; governor Cuomo says “beaches will open on Memorial Day weekend” – deBlasio still refuses to accept that he doesn’t have the authority to make those types of decisions and declarations… An “unnecessary” remake of the cult classic “Valley Film” is on the way; since there’s no baseball, SNY showed all 5 broadcast games of the 1969 World Series, which Rob joyfully recounts. Because we’re all stuck in place, Rob presents ”the joys of re-discovery”: in this case, aside from “classic” baseball, a perspective on ”The Last Waltz” and the fun of going down a Band wormhole since… plus, a really fun “In Our Heads”, born of a Facebook posting by Jon and a ton more!
Grab a coffee and be prepared to sit for a while with Jon and Rob as your company – you’re going to love this episode of Radio City…!
