Well, she’s done it again. Leslie’s gone on a much-needed and deserved vacation and left me with the keys to her little kingdom. No, that’s not a euphemism – get your mind out of the gutter. Me, I’m stuck here, but still basking in the afterglow of Bruce Springsteen’s two concerts at Wrigley Field a couple of weeks ago. So I’m giving you a special Asbury Park version of the Song for the Soundtrack of Your Date (No Date) Tonight.
Song for the Soundtrack of Your Date Tonight
Maybe we ain’t that young anymore. At this point in our lives we’re all bringing baggage from our previous relationships into anything new. Hell, I need a porter for all of mine. And if somebody’s not carrying scars they’re not worth it. All we can do is hope that we’ve learned from our mistakes to try to make it work this time.

Pour me a drink, Theresa. Bourbon neat. I just loaded up the jukebox with a ton of sad-sack songs and I’m gonna sit here and drink until they’ve all been played. Hope your other customers are in the mood for some George Jones, Little Anthony and the Imperials and Otis Redding. Sometimes, only the oldies will do.
