Hi all. I’m guest-posting for Jeff today. When I was probably about 13 or so, my Uncle Mark made a series of mixtapes for my family that I’ve tried to reconstruct here. He was a big fan of Irish music, so it seemed appropriate to post this as close to St. Patrick’s Day as possible.

Side 1:

The Violent Femmes – American Music from Why Do Birds Sing?

Richard Thompson – I Feel So Good from Rumor and Sigh

Shriekback – Nemesis from Oil & Gold

The Replacements – Talent Show from Don’t Tell a Soul

The Proclaimers – I’m on My Way from Sunshine on Leith

The Pixies – Here Comes Your Man from Doolittle

Soul Asylum – Runaway Train from Grave Dancers Union

Buffalo Tom – Taillights Fade from Let Me Come Over

John Wesley Harding – Ordinary Weekend from Why We Fight

The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl – Fairytale of New York from If I Should Fall from Grace with God

Side 2:

Peter Holsapple & Chris Stamey — Angels from Mavericks

Peter Holsapple & Chris Stamey — She Was the One from Mavericks

The Levellers — One Way from Levelling the Land

Marshall Crenshaw — Someday, Someway from Marshall Crenshaw

Adrian Belew – Men in Helicopters from Young Lions

The Waterboys — Fisherman’s Blues from Fisherman’s Blues

The Waterboys — Strange Boat from Fisherman’s Blues

Grant Lee Buffalo — Fuzzy from Fuzzy

Steve Earle — The Other Kind from The Hard Way

The Replacements — Skyway from Pleased to Meet Me
