LA’s Guardian Ghost blazes across the night sky casting off a comet tail of influences ranging from Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Muse, Coldplay, Hooray For Earth, Editors and the Chameleons; shimmering guitars, sparks of percussion, haunting orchestral notes and the achingly beautiful vocals of frontman Jesse Glick. If that wasn’t enough reason to check out this video, then perhaps it’s the chance to gaze lovingly at Katia Winter for six winterful minutes. Winter has starred in such shows I now regret never seeing like Sleepy Hollow and Dexter. All she really needs to do is stand there and look pretty to make this video work, but she walks too. Elegantly.

Jessie Glick Guardian GhostUsually performance videos bore me, but director Alex Patsos layers Sailor with starry visual effects that evoke the magic and mellon collie (intended) of the song with or without Ms. Winter. Thankfully, with. Some bands have all the luck. And all the pain. Hence the beauty of this song.

But wait — there’s more…  stick through to the glorious end to revel in the final minute where the song lifts into high orbit. Throw in a light show and this song — and band — are primed for the stadium circuit. They could easily open for one and all of the bands listed above. Someone get on that.

The full length, Shadowlands, arrives next year. Til then, catch em in their club phase while you can.
