If 2011 wasn’t officially the year of the post-ironic sax solo before, it definitely is now.

Foster the People were the musical guests on last weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live, and used the occasion to bring out their ubiquitous hit, “Pumped Up Kicks,” as well as “Houdini,” a track from their gold-selling Torches album — and invited smooth jazz genius Kenny G to join them on the latter.
