Hey everybody. Welcome to the twentieth dendrite-drubbing week of Name That Tune at Popdose. This week we have a Very Special Name That Tune, with songs chosen and acrostic puzzle assembled by Popdoser Michael Fortes!
THIS WEEK: Win Name That Tune, Win a Prize! We have two CDs to give away this week (we can’t tell you which one, as the puzzle song is on the CD!). CDs will be sent to the person who solves the puzzle song as well as the person who names the last remaining tune.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Name That Tune without a few soul-stifling rules:
The Rules (subject to modification in future games):
MAXIMUM THREE GUESSES between updates of the list, to give everyone a chance to play. An update of the list is when I post the entire list of correct guesses.The Puzzle clip may only be guessed once between updates, but may still be guessed if you have used up your regular three guesses.While I’m not going to be a stickler for spelling and punctuation, you must guess the correct musician and song title to a close approximation. How the game is played:I have uploaded twenty-four very brief song clips. The clips are drawn from a variety of styles and decades. This time some of the songs are harder than in past weeks (and I’ve made some of the clips a little longer to compensate), but none of them are obscure. It’s likely that you’ll find a few of them instantly recognizable, while a few others you won’t know at all (but other people will).There are two parts to this game. The first is guessing the songs themselves. The second part is guessing the puzzle song (clip 24). Once again, we’re doing an acrostic game: This time, the first letter of the name of the ARTIST for the first 23 clips spells out a clue to the identity of the puzzle song. (And of course, if the puzzle song is guessed early, that ought to help nail down the rest of the songs.)Some songs may go unguessed the first time round. If songs remain unguessed after a day, I’ll give clues.
