Section 2: The Top 40

Biz Markie hit #9 with the off-key classic, ”Just a Friend.”

Black Box had three hits and they all went top 40. You should remember ”Everybody Everybody,” ”I Don’t Know Anybody Else” and ”Strike It Up.”

The Black Crowes hit the top 40 twice, first with a reissue of ”Hard To Handle” and then with ”She Talks To Angels.”

The Blackout Allstars hit #25 in 1996 with ”I Like It.”

Blackstreet took ”Booti Call” to #34, ”Before I Let You Go” to #7, ”Take Me There” to #12 and my favorite song of the decade, ”No Diggity” to #1. The latter won them a grammy.
