Section 3: The Airplay chart

Alice In Chains are a good example of the travesty of the 90s. A lot of these alternative bands didn’t release actual singles and therefore weren’t eligible for the Hot 100, only the airplay charts. So you’ll see a lot of songs in here that you know from airplay but mainly through MTV videos — like both ”No Excuses” and ”Heaven Beside You.”
