I Call Him SON OF GAMBLOR! Conference Championships

I guess I should be a bit disappointed that I haven’t been betting on Gamblor’s picks during the postseason – it’s actually been doing pretty well so far during the postseason.  Last week it would have won $35, after the Jets managed to prove all their doubters wrong.  This week the computer is pretty indifferent to both games, but as usual, prefers to get the points.

GREEN BAY PACKERS at CHICAGO BEARS Computer’s Pick: Chicago (+3.5) Bet Amount: $4.51 (Consensus)

COMMENTS: This game goes one of two ways – either Chicago keeps it close and pulls out an exciting win for their home fans…or Green Bay blows them out the same way they did to Atlanta.  I’m leaning towards the former.  Chicago is familiar with the Packers – and already beat them at home this season.  And they held the Packers to just a touchdown in their Week 17 game, which was effectively meaningless for the Bears.  I think pride will sustain their defense in this one, and they’ll keep it close enough to have a shot at winning in the end.

NEW YORK JETS at PITTSBURGH STEELERS Computer’s Pick: NY Jets (+4) Bet Amount: $2.53 (Consensus)

COMMENTS: The Jets have been so much fun to watch this season.  I’d hate to see their run end here, but I fully expect it will.  Sanchez looked great against the Patriots defense…but that was the Patriots defense.  Pittsburgh’s is ten times better.  And Roethlisberger and the Steelers offense won’t have the same kind of lackadaisical attitude that Tom Brady and the Patriots did.  I’m hoping for this to be a good game – and I think it will be – but I think this will be the end of the line for the Jets this season – and their last-ditch effort to pull out the game will result in a late score for Pittsburgh that puts this one out of reach.
