frances_ha_xlgTwo of indie film’s most acclaimed stars, Greta Gerwig (Lola Versus) and writer/director Noah Baumbach (The Squid and the Whale) teamed up for this year’s critical and commercial success, Frances Ha.

In the film Gerwig stars as Frances, a woman in her late 20’s who’s adrift. Frances lives in New York, but she doesn’t really have an apartment. Frances is an apprentice for a dance company, but she’s not really a dancer. Frances has a best friend named Sophie, but they aren’t really speaking anymore. Frances throws herself headlong into her dreams, even as their possible reality dwindles. Frances wants so much more than she has but lives her life with unaccountable joy and lightness. Frances Ha is a modern comic fable that explores New York, friendship, class, ambition, failure, and redemption.

Gerwig and Baumbach had worked together previously on the Ben Stiller headliner, Greenberg (which Baumbach wrote and directed). For Frances Ha, Gerwig and Baumbach co-wrote the screenplay. The film co-stars Mickey Sumner, Michael Esper and Adam Driver.

Frances Ha began streaming on SundanceNow November 12. Popdose would like to provide one lucky reader with a code to watch the movie on the independent film site.

What do you have to do to qualify for a chance to get this code? Simple, email Mr. Malchus@popdose.com the name of Gerwig’s character in the mumblecore classic, Hannah Takes the Stairs.

You have until Friday, 11/22/13 to send your answer. Good luck!
