Scream 4was the latest installment of the franchise series. Like the previous three, it was directed by horror legend, Wes Craven, and starred Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette. Holding up the tradition of casting hot young actors in roles that may not survive thorugh the movie, Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Kristen Bell, Anna Paquin and Adam Brody also appear.

The film will soon be out on DVD and Blu-Ray, but it will also be available for digital download on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Xbox and Playstation starting October 4th, 2011 just in time for Halloween! The catch phrase for the film was “It’s a new decade, with new rules.” That holds true for the home video release of the film, as well.

With so many formats available for people to watch films, I think it’s very forward thinking of Dimension films to embrace the new technology. It surprises me that the major studies still drag their feet for these formats.
