Here are two tracks from The Green Album, an album of tribute songs about clay superstars Gumby and Pokey released in 1989. The first one, Á¢€Å“The Ballad of Gumby,Á¢€ performed by Rick Schulman, is a wonderfully dramatic story about Sheriff Gumby and his showdown with outlaw Soggy Lagoon. The story ends with Lagoon cheating and shooting Gumby in the head. Thankfully, Sheriff Gumby emerges unscathed becauseÁ¢€¦but that would be telling, wouldnÁ¢€â„¢t it? (And no, itÁ¢€â„¢s not because heÁ¢€â„¢s made of clay.)

The second track here is Á¢€Å“We All Are Gumby,Á¢€ a great Beatle-esque turn by Flo & Eddie, former members of sixties band The Turtles. This is very reminiscent of Á¢€Å“I Am the WalrusÁ¢€ with lots of psychedelic imagery (and a string section!) and even a false fade. The lesson to learn here is to Á¢€Å“Be humble and respectable. Above all, just be flexible.Á¢€
