    One of your best yet. “Beyond the Sea” is one of my all-time favorites. If you've never heard the original French version by Charles Trenet, it's a must.

    Was the Rhode Island song written by John Pizzarelli? I think I've seen him perform it as well.
    I saw Mandy Patinkin do a show in Boston a few years ago. I was really enjoying it until he started having a conversation with a puppet on his hand. Puppets really creep me out…

    No, just checked my Pizzarelli live CD, I'm mixing it up with another song in my head. Lot of things go on in my head that I have no control over. On the Live at Birdland CD, the grandson of one of the writers, Arthur Schwartz was introduced and pointed out in the audience after the song.

    I think the version of “Boom Like That” you have here is much better than the original studio version — which, I've never liked.
