everest-bluray-dvd-digital-copy-442957.1On Tuesday, January 19th, Universal Home Entertainment will release Everest (available now now on Digital HD), the thrilling adventure inspired by a 1996 attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain. Directed by Baltasar KormÁ¡kur, Everest features an all-star cast including Jake Gyllenhaal (Southpaw), Keira Knightley (The Imitation Game), Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty), Josh Brolin (Sicario), John Hawkes (The Sessions), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Sam Worthington (Avatar) and Emily Watson (The Theory of Everything).

Everest documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind. Their mettle tested by the harshest elements found on the planet, the climbers face nearly impossible obstacles as a lifelong obsession becomes a breathtaking struggle for survival.

Rolling Stone’s Peter Travers called Everest is ”a dizzying visual adventure.” The filmmakers went to great lengths to capture the brutal majesty of the deadly peak. They recreated the mountain through state-of-the-art studio work and visual effects. In addition, the cast and crew also endured the elements at the foothills of Everest.

In support of the film, Popdose has one Blu-ray combo pack (which includes the DVD and a Digital HD code) and a limited edition Everest carabiner.
