Pierce Brosnan is back in the spy game in the new action/thriller, The November Man. In the film, he plays Peter Devereaux, an ex-CIA agent pulled out of retirement to protect a woman (Olga Kurylenko) who could expose the truth behind a decades old conspiracy.  Complicating this already dangerous mission is the fact that Devereaux’s former friend and protege, Mason (Luke Bracey), has been  assigned to track them down. This being the spy business, there are growing suspicions of a mole in the agency, and loyalties are constantly in question. Devereaux doesn’t know who he can trust, in the no rules, no holds barred world of modern espionage.

As you can see from the trailer, Brosnan has moved comfortably into the role of elder spymaster. This film looks like it could be a lot of fun.

The November Man was written Michael Finch & Karl Gajdusek based on Bill Granger’s novel There are No Spies from the bestselling November Man book series. It was directed by Roger Donaldson, director of the classic, Now Way Out, as well as The Bank Job and Thirteen Days.

It opens in wide release August 27, just in time for the long holiday weekend.
