TheHeat_BD_ORing_Spine_6inch2013 is turning out to be another banner year for Sandra Bullock. Her latest film, Gravity, is earning her some of the greatest praise of her career and the film seems destined to be a box office winner. There’s already talk that she may be the one to beat for the Academy Award. Bullock would be 2 for 2 for the year. This past summer she co-starred with Academy Award nominee (and Emmy winner) Melissa McCarthy in the box office smash, The Heat, a hilarious film that played to both actors strengths.

A send-up of testosterone driven buddy cop movies, The Heat not only won over male and female audiences, but it was a critical hit, as well. In the film, Bullock plays an uptight FBI agent who gets paired with McCarthy’s foul-mouthed Boston cop. Together they must bring down a drug lord, and along the way they become buddies.

The Heat was written by Kattie Dippold, whose credits include writing for the under-appreciated Parks and Recreation, and it was directed by Paul Feig, the creator of the cult TV series, Freaks and Geeks, and the director of 2011’s summer comedy, Bridesmaids, for which McCarthy earned her Oscar nomination. The film co-stars Demian Bichir, Marlon Wayons, SNL’s Taran Killam, and features appearances by Tom Wilson and the great Jane Curtin.

If you missed it in theaters, The Heat will be released on Blu-ray Combo Pack Tuesday, October 15th.  Features of the Blu-ray combo include: Blu-ray, DVD and Digital copies of the movie; theatrical and unrated versions of the feature; and commentaries by Feig, McCarthy and the original MST3K guys.

Popdose has one copy of the Blu-ray combo pack to give away to one of our lucky readers. Are you feeling lucky? Then answer this simple trivia question to be entered into a drawing for the copy of The Heat.

Name the New Kid who has a supporting role as one of McCarthy’s brothers in The Heat.

Sounds simple enough.
