Kelly Stitzel: Eddie Murphy has signed on to provide the voice of Hong Kong Phooey in a live-action/CGI adaptation of the ’70s Hanna-Barbera cartoon, to be helmed by Tooth Fairy 2 director Alex Zamm. Discuss.
Jeff Giles: Goddammit.
Dw. Dunphy: May the ghost of Scatman Crothers return and take pictures of Murphy with another transvestite.
Brian Boone: With Eddie busy, this means I might get my top choice, Kevin Spacey, to star in Rubik the Amazing Cube: The Movie.
Michael Parr: “The power of kung-fu never fails!”
Jeff Giles: I SAID GODDAMMIT
Michael: This just reminds me just how irrelevant Eddie Murphy is to my sphere of entertainment.
Jeff: Will this be better or worse than The Adventures of Pluto Nash?
Scott Malchus: If Murphy would counter his kids films with something edgy, something that could stand alongside his great work in the ’80s, I wouldn’t have a problem with this movie. Let’s face it, the guy has to pay the bills — and trust me, when producers want to throw money at you to do voiceover work, it’s a no-brainer.
Wait — there was a Tooth Fairy 2?
